About

Kevin and Jessica have been married for over 11 yrs and been blessed with 5 kids (ages 9, 7, 5, 3 and 2).  The family has lived many places over the past few years and are now settled just outside of Saint Louis, MO.

Kevin is currently employed with Nestle in the pet care division and has been employed with them in some capacity over the past 13 yrs.

Jessica has been blessed to be a stay at home mom since the oldest child was born.  She works hard to keep the chaos that comes with having a large family at a minimum.  This school year has 3 of the kids (including Madi) in public school and the 2 youngest still at home.

Madi was diagnosed with ALL on Sept. 4, 2012.  Her parents became concerned about some unusual bruising that wouldn't heal, loss of appetite and low energy levels.  Thinking (hoping) these symptoms were only due to being anemic or at the worst mono, her mother took her to their pediatrician at about 11:00 am to have some blood tests done.

At 2:00 pm, the whirlwind began.  Jessica was told to immediately take Madi to a local pediatric oncologist.  Madi was then admitted to Mercy hospital to receive 2 units of packed red blood cells and 1 unit of platelets.  Over the 5 days in the hospital, Madi had to have a lumbar puncture, bone marrow samples taken, port placement, chemo, and medications - among other things.  Through it all, she was a trooper!  She handled the situation as well as any 5 yr old could and probably better than some adults.

The next 2.5 yrs will be quite the journey for all of the family.  Lessons will be learned in some of the most unlikely times - allowing the family to grow in love and in their faith in God.
